How does Blessings in a Backpack work?

Holy Spirit helps ease childhood hunger, educate parish community about poverty

Every other Sunday after Mass, Holy Spirit parishioners and school families have been packing and delivering Blessings in a Backpack food to Dunn Elementary School in Louisville for children who need food during the weekend.

KFC puts the #ChickenSandwichWars on hold to fight a greater enemy: childhood hunger

For every chicken sandwich sold on Giving Tuesday, KFC will donate $1 to Blessings in a Backpack, with a minimum donation of $250,000 and a maximum donation of $300,000.

KFC, Darnell “SuperChef” Ferguson, pack 1,500 bags of food for local kids

Darnell “SuperChef” Ferguson and several dozen KFC and Henny Penny employees packed bags of weekend food for 1,500 JCPS students who might otherwise go hungry.
